Now All Shops Closed in These Areas of Pune till May 17, Medical Stores Exempted
Pune, May 10, 2020: As the numbers of Coronavirus patients are increasing continuously every day, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to close all shops except medical stores in the 69 containment zones, where most COVID patients have been detected. The number of patients in PMC areas has crossed 2200.
PMC Commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad said that in earlier order on May 3 essential commodities shops like vegetable, fruit, milk etc were allowed to open in these areas from 10 am to 2 pm, but it was observed that social distancing and other norms were not being followed. Also, the number of COVID patients is still growing there. Hence, from May 11 to May 17, all shops except those located in the 69 containment zones will remain closed. If required, PMC with the help of Pune police will make arrangements for milk, vegetable at open space or their home delivery will be done, based on local situations.
