Now Dhangekar Gives Six-Day Ultimatum to Pune Police Over Trust Land Fraud Allegations
Pune, 31st October 2025: Former MLA and Shiv Sena (UBT) metropolitan chief Ravindra Dhangekar has demanded a thorough investigation into the alleged irregularities in the land transaction of the Sheth Hirachand Nemchand Memorial Trust located in Model Colony. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Dhangekar alleged large-scale fraud involving officials, construction companies, and banks.
He has submitted a written complaint to the Chatushrungi Police Station, urging a probe against government officials, Charity Commissioner’s office representatives, builders, and bank officers allegedly involved in the land deal.
“If the police fail to act within six days, I will approach the court,” Dhangekar warned.
According to Dhangekar, the valuation conducted by a private company during the sale and purchase of the trust’s land raises serious doubts. He also questioned the role of two banks that sanctioned loans for the project.
“The valuation done by the company and the role of some construction firms are suspicious. On what grounds did two banks approve loans for this project? There has been a major fraud with the connivance of certain administrative officials. If a proper audit is conducted, the entire scam will come to light,” he alleged.
The Sheth Hirachand Nemchand Memorial Trust property in Model Colony has been at the centre of controversy in recent months after questions were raised about its ownership transfer and sale approvals. Dhangekar’s latest allegations have once again brought the issue under the public spotlight, with calls growing for an independent inquiry.
