The research is currently underway in more than 100 organizations around the world. At the same time, a Canadian university claims that the use of cannabis can save the person with a serious illness who has more chances to get infected by a coronavirus.

According to this research, cannabis use is beneficial to strengthen the body’s immune system. The study also found that people with coronavirus and other serious illnesses could start using cannabis-containing drugs.

According to Daily Mail, a group of researchers at the University of Lethbridge in Canada have claimed that a weakened immune system triggers a process called ‘cytokine storm’. It also affects the healthy cells in the body. Many patients with coronavirus disease and other illnesses have died of the same cause.

The substance found in Cannabis leaves can stop this cytokine storm. The two chemicals that cause cytokine storms are interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-a). Researchers say that cannabis can help to reduce the levels of these chemicals.
