NTPC Wins 100 MW Solar Capacities in SECI’s 250 MW Tender At Dondaicha Solar Park, Dhule, Maharashtra

New Delhi, May 14, 2019: In line with its aim to diversify its energy mix to include renewable sources of power generation, NTPC participated in the tender floated by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for 250 MW grid connected Solar projects at Dondaicha Solar Park, District, Dhule, Maharashtra. The Maharatna PSU won 100 MW of Solar capacities at a tariff of Rs 2.91/Unit as a part of the reverse auction.

Taking NTPC’S total capacity won under tariff based competitive bidding to 345 MW, this 100 MW solar project shall be set up by NTPC under the EPC mode.

With a vision to “provide green power through locally available resources at affordable price, promoting clean energy”, NTPC aims to become the country’s largest green power producer in the coming years, supplementing the conventional energy sources to ensure competitiveness and mitigate fuel risks. NTPC currently has 11 solar energy based projects across the country.
