OLX India Hosts Dealer Connect Program- DRIVE-A-THON
Pune, 23th December, 2018: OLX, India’s largest online marketplace for pre-owned Cars, Two-wheelers, Real Estate, Goods and Services held its dealer connect program, DRIVE-A-THON, at The Westin, Koregaon Park, Pune. DRIVE-A-THON is a unique program launched by OLX, with the purpose of supporting professional users’ community to effectively use the online medium, in order to grow their business.
Sharing his views, Sunny Kataria, VP- OLX India, said, “Pune is the leading centre for the automotive sector in India as well as globally and a strong market for OLX India auto category with over 10,000+ active listings. DRIVE-A-THON is an initiative wherein we bring the used car industry across the country together; thereby providing a platform for the sellers to help them successfully leverage the power of online classified business. Our growth efforts in the city are supported by a local commercial team, who help business listers become successful on the OLX platform. Through this initiative, we have reached out to over 4,000 dealers across twelve cities.”
Under the initiative, OLX educates car dealers about the emerging trends in the pre-owned automobile market, hosts workshop with experts from the industry and promotes knowledge sharing on regulatory development in the automobile sector.
The event saw participation from over 300 dealers from the city. Mr. Kataria shared market trends and future plans to support the growth of the community. The growth of the used car market is an outcome of the changing preferences of consumers, increasing demand for pre-owned mid & luxury cars in Pune, shorter ownership cycle resulting in high supply and fast adoption of online platforms.

Auto is the largest category on OLX, generating 40% of all user visits on the platform. With over 70% of the used car market share in India, auto category has been the biggest revenue contributor for OLX over the last 2 years. OLX has the largest base of 30,000 pre-owned car dealers across India.
