Only court and not NIA has the right to issue clean chit in Malegaon blasts case : Ex Foreign Minister Salman Khursheed.

KOREGAON PARK: In the the aftermath of the country’s premier National Investigation Agency (NIA) giving a clean chit to Malegaon blast accused Sadhi Pragya Thakur and five others, Former External Affairs Minister Salman Khursheed on Saturday maintained that it is the constitutional right of the court to either  charge an accused or to acquit him in a case and not the right of an investigative agency.

Khursheed who was addressing mediapersons after the formal launch of the DPS Wonder World Pre School in Koregaon Park. Khursheed further added ever since the Saffron government came to power, it has been taking deciding on either dropping the charges of issuing clean chit was the court mandate not the agency. He further maintained that the NIA’s act of issuing a clean chit to the Malegaon suspects can prove to be false during a court investigation.

Political analyst Tehseen Poonawalla came down heavily on the BJP government and said that it was systematically dismantling the constitution of the country by shielding and protecting the real culprits in the Malegaon blasts case. “ The previous government under the Congress had carried out impartial investigations into the case and was taking it to the logical conclusion ,” he said. Poonawalla further said that the fight against the dictatorial and fascist ideology of the BJP will continue with missionary zeal in the days to come.

Referring to the Augusta Westland deal, Poonawalla pointed out that the union government had deliberated created the issue to wean attention away from the excesses it was committing in Jharkhand. Louise Khursheed in her address said that her vision behind the foundation was to empower each and every child of the country providing them quality education which enriches them in their life skills. She said that the educational intiative launched by the school would ensure that holistic development of children by moulding them into good citizens of tomorrow. Amongst the other who spoke comprised of Dr Usha Ram who gave a brief overview of the the organizational work while Abhishek Ram spoke out the lofty goals of educational empowerment being done by the organisation.

The school is a flagship DPS Alumni Pre School intiative in the country by Abhivridhi Foundation, New Delhi.The programme was attended by a number of business tycoons and political personalities from the city including firebrand orator and nationally acclaimed political analyst Tehseen Poonawalla, Abhivridhi Foundation Trustee Dr Usha Ram, Mr. Abhishek Ram, CEO of Abhivridhi Foundation and Mrs Louise Khurshid, socialite Monica Vadera and Pema Ram, who runs the school.
