OPENING CEREMONY OF NATIONAL ARCHERY CHAMPIONSHIPS  AT ARMY SPORTS INSTITUTE, PUNE

Senior National Archery Championship began at the Archery Arena of Army Sports Institute (ASI), Pune on 05 April 2018. The Opening Ceremony commenced with by welcome speech by Lieutenant Colonel AN Jha, PhD, Officiating Commandant ASI Pune. The championship was declared open by Lieutenant General (Dr) SA Cruze, Vishist Seva Medal and Bar (Retired), Sports Medicine Expert and a National Hockey player of repute, who was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The Opening Ceremony was also graced by Brigadier PKM Raja, Vishist Seva Medal (Retired), Member of Target Olympic Podiums (TOPs) Selection Committee, who is also a renowned Boxing Referee and a Judge.

278 Archers, 15 Archery Association India Officials and 102 Managers & Coaches from 34 State, Union Territory and Association teams are participating in the Indian Round which is the first competition and scheduled on 05th April and 06th Apr 2018. The Archers will be contesting for 16 Medals each in Men and Women categories. The Recurve and Compound events will start on 8th and 11th April respectively.
