Pune, 15th February 2025: A total of 1,01,916 students have been allotted seats through an online lottery under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, securing admission to 25% reserved seats in private unaided schools across Maharashtra. The admission confirmation process will take place from February 14 to 28, officials said.

Director of Primary Education Sharad Gosavi stated that 3,05,152 applications were received for 1,09,087 available seats in 8,853 schools across the state. Given the high demand, an online lottery was conducted on February 10, selecting students for the available seats.

To complete the admission process, parents of selected students must undergo document verification. A verification committee will scrutinize the documents, and once validated, the student’s name will be registered online. Following this, a provisional admission letter will be issued, and parents will be required to submit an undertaking.

“If parents fail to attend the document verification process on the given date, they will be provided with two additional chances to complete the procedure,” said an official statement. Parents are advised to check the RTE website for updates instead of relying solely on SMS notifications.

Authorities have also clarified that no admissions will be granted after the deadline, even if seats remain vacant. Moreover, if any false or incorrect information is found at any stage, the admission will be canceled immediately.

The Education Department has emphasized that the RTE admission process is being conducted transparently. Parents are urged not to fall prey to fraudulent agents offering guaranteed admissions. In case of any irregularities, complaints can be lodged via email at [email protected] or [email protected], along with physical evidence.
