Pandit Sangameshwar Gurav Puraskar to Pt. Vijay Koparkar and Vivek Sonar

Pune, April 24, 2018: Famous classical Vocalist Pt Vijay Koparkar has been awarded the P. Sangameshwar Gurav Smruti Puraskar, 2018 and the renowned flute player Vivek Sonar has been awarded Pt. Sangameshwar Gurav Yuva Puraskar,2018. Pt. Kaivalyakumar of Kalanubhava Charitable Trust recently confirmed the news by making an announcement on behalf of the Trust.

Every year Kalanubhava Charitable Trust honors the contribution made to Indian classical music through these awards.This would be the fourth year of the award. The awardees would be presented with cash prize, memento and shawl. The awards will be presented in next month during a music festival organised by Kalanubhav in Pune.

Pt. Vijay Koparkar, a native of Pune, is a famous classical vocalist having learnt the art of singing from maestros like Pt.Vasantrao Deshpande and Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki. Vivek Sonar is a disciple of Padma Vibhushan Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, and he is known as a young promising flute player.

The Kalanubhava Charitable Trust has been set up with sole aim of providing platform to young and budding artists who want to cultivate and express their talents. The Trust has been working in this area for the last eight years now and have organised many programs, competitions and workshops for music lovers. Besides this, Kalanubhava Gurukul has been established in Pune with a purpose to reinforce Hindustani classical music amongst the upcoming young generation by giving opportunities to boost their moral and confidence in the art.
