Pankaj Shah appointed as Governor of Rotary International District 3131

Pune, July 1, 2021: Rotarian Pankaj Shah has been appointed as the Governor of Rotary International District 3131 for the year 2021-22. He will be the Head of all Rotary Clubs under Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad City, Pune District and Raigad District.
Pankaj Shah completed his engineering education in production technology and is involved in a family business. Shah is currently the Managing Director and Director of 9 different companies based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and also in Shirwal and Chakan. He has been active in social work as a Rotarian since 2009 and has served as the President of the Rotary Club of Sarasbaug in 2013-14. His credentials are administrative work and grip on administration, crisis management and innovative ideas.
Speaking about his appointment, Pankaj Shah said, “I am aware of the responsibilities as the Governor of Rotary International District 3131. During my tenure as Governor, the focus will be on rural areas as well as urban primary education, healthcare, sanitation and environment, water and electricity consumption. We will focus on the overall development of the villages keeping in view the needs of the rural areas. We will work on digital learning, e-learning model in addition to school facilities to ensure that students get a good education. We’ll find and implement solutions to the problem of waste management and transportation in urban areas. We are also working to make the towns and villages in Rotary District 3131 get the status of clean cities and clean villages at the national level by convincing the citizens in urban and rural areas about the importance of cleanliness.”
Earlier, Pankaj Shah was honoured with The Rotary Foundation’s ‘Citation for Meritorious Service’ award in the United States. He has won the Best President of District 3131 award during 2013-14 and has also received the prestigious ‘Club Builder Award of Rotary International’. To date, he has worked successfully at many levels of Rotary. These include Assistant Governor (2014-15), Director of Conference Promotion, Chairman of Club Extension, Director of Rotary Foundation (2017-18), District Secretary of Events and Meets (2016-17) and Director of Community Services Project (2018-19) and Co-Director-CSR among others.
At the Rotary International level, Shah is a member of the National Committee of the Rotary India Literacy Mission. He has also served as a member of the Technical Committee for the Dazzling Dubai Zonal Institute, Joint Secretary for Management for the Rotary Literacy Summit, and a member of the South Asia Reception Committee held in the United States. To date, he has participated in six Rotary International conferences and five institutes.
