Pune, 18th January 2025: Passengers at Pune International Airport faced significant delays recently due to a malfunction in the luggage screening machine, causing frustration and criticism of the airport’s services. The incident, which occurred a few days ago, left travellers waiting for over two hours to retrieve their luggage, despite many having arrived early for their flights. This delay has sparked criticism of the airport administration, as passengers continue to face inconveniences even after the opening of a new terminal.

On Wednesday night, an IndiGo flight from Dubai to Pune arrived 30 minutes ahead of schedule at 9:30 PM. Passengers disembarked and waited for their luggage, but after an hour and a half, there was still no sign of their belongings. Airport officials informed the stranded travellers that the delay was due to a fault in the luggage screening machine.

It wasn’t until around 11:15 PM, nearly two hours after the flight’s early arrival, that passengers finally received their luggage. This unexpected wait negated the time saved by the flight’s early arrival and left many passengers frustrated with the wasted time and inconvenience.
