Pay Homage to Kargil martyrs at National War Memorial Pune on July 26
Kargil Vijay Diwas will be celebrated on 26 July 2016 at the National War Memorial, Southern Command, Pune. It was on this day in 1999 that the gallant Indian Armed Forces as part of operation Vijay recaptured our posts in Kargil which had been treacherously occupied by elements of the Pakistan Army.
The ceremony will be attended by all military personnel of Pune Station. During the ceremony, tribute will be paid to martyrs of Kargil War at the National War Memorial. A commemorative wreath will be laid at 9 AM by Lt Gen Bipin Rawat,GOC-in-C Southern Command, Pune on behalf of all ranks of HQ Southern Command as part of the event.
The National War Memorial will remain open for all citizens of Pune to pay homage to the Kargil martyrs from 9 AM to 8 PM.
