PCMC: Late-Night Fire Destroys Shops in Pimple Saudagar, Firefighters Prevent Spread

Pimple Saudagar, 27th January 2025: A major fire broke out earlier today at Shivar Chowk in Pimple Saudagar, causing significant property damage but no injuries or fatalities. The incident occurred around 1:30 am at Royal Avenue, affecting a clothing store and a dental clinic. The affected establishments were Aadi’s Fashion Hub and Om Happy Teeth Advanced Dental Care & Implant Laser Centre.
The fire brigade of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) responded swiftly, deploying over 10 fire vehicles, including two from its main fire station in Sant Tukaram Nagar. Thousands of liters of water were used to control the blaze, which was brought under control within an hour. Cooling operations, however, took longer due to the intensity of the fire.
Despite being located in a mixed residential and commercial area, no injuries were reported. A nearby branch of the popular sweet shop chain, Pradeep Sweets, remained unaffected. Preliminary investigations indicate the fire was caused by a short circuit.
Fire Officer Gautam Ingawale stated:
“No injuries or fatalities occurred despite the severity of the fire. Being a commercial complex, we managed to douse the fire within 15 minutes, though cooling operations took additional time. The property damage was significant, but we successfully prevented the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.”
The fire attracted a large crowd of onlookers, and the swift action by the fire brigade ensured the situation was brought under control, preventing further escalation.
