Pimpri-Chinchwad, 26th May 2021: If the Central government gives permission, we will help Hindustan Antibiotics Limited (HAL) company to produce vaccines against Coronavirus disease (COVID19), informed Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Patil.

There is a shortage of vaccines in the PCMC area. MP Shrirang Barne, MLA Mahesh Landge, former MLA Vilas Lande, Mayor Usha Dhore and corporator Sandeep Waghere had demanded that if the vaccine will be produced in the HAL it will help to overcome the shortage of Covid vaccine.

“We are ready to provide financial assistance. However, it has been asked to make an agreement, but the vaccine should be made available to the citizens of Pimpri-Chinchwad as a priority”, PCMC Commissioner further said.

Waiting for a decision from the central government

“HAL has sought permission from the Central Government to manufacture the Covid vaccine. We have taken this issue to the Union Ministry of Health”, said MP Barne.

Opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis has demanded that HAL should be allowed to manufacture vaccines. The central government is positive about this, he said.
