PCMC: Now Pet Owners Have To Pay Rs 1,000 For Burial Of The Animal
Pimpri, December 25, 2020: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) now will charge Rs 1,000 to the pet owners for the funeral of their pet animal. The decision to charge the pet owners was taken during the Standing Committee meeting of the corporation.
The pet owners now will have to dole out Rs 1,000 per animal for the burial. According to the officials, the proposed fee was Rs 2,000 but then it was reduced down Rs 1,000.
The burial of the pet animals takes place at Nehru Nagar burial ground after it was constructed in 2007. There are two incinerators functional at the burial ground. It costs Rs 20,000 for the corporation which includes salaries of the employees and maintenance.
