PCMC: Six members of two families found COVID positive, Total Tally Reaches 174

Pimpri, May 12, 2020: Six new Coronavirus positive patients in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) area were detected today taking the total tally of patients to 174. The new patients are from two families in Charholi belonging to a policeman (he was earlier detected) and an employee of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). Till now 10 people have been detected positive in Charholi.

According to PCMC officials, three persons are from Patole Vasti while three others are from Burde Vasti in Charholi. A three-year-old boy and two women are from one family, while a man and two women from another family. They are admitted to the hospital now.

The officials further said that two patients were discharged today after they recovered. Out of 174 patients, 111 have been cured and discharged while 4 have lost their lives. There are still 59 active patients. Also, out of 22 non-PCMC residents who were admitted in YCM hospital, 7 have recovered while 5 have died and 10 are still undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, in Pune city, there was a massive jump in the number of Coronavirus positive patients. In Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area, today 164 new cases were reported taking the total tally of patients to 2737. Seven people died because of Corona while 120 were discharged from hospitals after getting cured till 9 pm today.

According to PMC, since March 9 the total of patients have reached 2737 out of which 156 have lost their lives while 1209 patients have been cured till date. There are still 1372 active patients in hospitals including 107 critical patients. 25 of them are on ventilator support. Today swab samples of 989 persons were collected for testing.

Meanwhile, 1026 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Maharashtra today. The state tally of COVID-19 positive patients is now 24,427. Death toll in Covid-19 patients has now gone up to 921 in the state.5125 patients have been discharged till date after full recovery.
