People damage stalls at Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana loan scheme meet

Chinchwad – Citizens damaged stalls at the gathering organized by Tata Capital Finance to provide loans under the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana. People alleged that the company had offered cheap houses under the scheme but during the meeting, the company officials said that they will give houses Rs 60 to 70 lakh.

The meeting was organised at Autocluster in Chinchwad. People alleged that they had paid Rs 200 for online application for cheap houses but the company officials were offering higher cost for the houses under the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana. The angry people ransacked the stalls.

A police team led by DCP Ganesh Shinde, ACP Satish Patil and Inspector Masaji Kale of Pimpri police station rushed to the spot to control the situation.

DCP Shinde said that the incident took place due to misunderstanding as people that they will get free homes.
