Petrol, Diesel Prices Continue To Rise

New Delhi, January 7, 2021: The price of petrol and diesel has again increased today. In Delhi, the price of petrol went up to Rs 84.20 by increasing by 23 paise on Thursday, while diesel went up to Rs 74.38 per litre by 26 paise.

According to the website of Indian Oil, petrol prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai have increased to Rs 84.20, Rs 85.68, Rs 90.83 and Rs 86.96 per litre respectively. At the same time, diesel prices in the four metros have increased to Rs 74.38, Rs 77.97, Rs 81.07 and Rs 79.72 per litre respectively.

Petrol is being sold at Rs 84.06 per litre in Noida, Rs 86.75 per litre in Patna, Rs 83.19 per litre in Ranchi and Rs 83.98 per litre in Lucknow. Diesel is being sold in Noida at Rs 74.82 per litre, in Patna diesel Rs 79.51 per litre, in Ranchi one litre of diesel is priced at 78.72 and in Lucknow diesel is sold at Rs 74.74.

Government oil marketing companies – Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum implement changes in prices from 6 am every day. Petrol-diesel prices change daily and are updated at 6 am.

After adding excise duty, dealer commission and other things to the price of petrol and diesel, its price almost doubles. Petrol and diesel prices change every day depending on what the crude prices are in the international market along with foreign exchange rates.
