Pimpri-Chinchwad, November 20, 2020: Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash has taken the initiative to help children of police personnel become entrepreneurs. Concessional loans along with training will be provided as per the scheme. The idea of implementing Entrepreneurship and Technical Entrepreneurship Development Program jointly by Maharashtra Entrepreneurship Development Center (MCED) and Pimpri-Chinchwad Police has been put forward by the city top cop.

The police, who have been working for the citizens for twelve hours or more every day, are not able to pay proper attention to their children. Police personnel do not have time to look at their children’s education, employment or self-employment. Therefore, this initiative has been undertaken to make police children between the age of 18 to 45 self-employed.

They will be given various training to start their own business. Through this initiative, loans up to Rs 50 lakhs will be available from the government through banks. The loan also has a government subsidy of 15 to 35 percent.

The commissioner is confident that the children of the police in the industrial city will become entrepreneurs themselves and provide employment to others. Additional Commissioner Ramnath Pokale has issued instructions to submit an application containing personal information to unit/police station where police personnel are posted. For this, Assistant Commissioner of Police Dr Sagar Kavade will be the coordinator. The heads of all the departments have been instructed to collect the information of the serving and retired police personnel and their children.

According to DCP (Crime Branch) Sudhir Hiremath, the children of police personnel will be initially given two days of basic training to understand their interest. After that, MCED will help them based on their educational qualifications and inclinations.
