Pimpri Chinchwad: Rotary Club Empowers Orphan Children Through Apla Pune Marathon
Pimpri Chinchwad, July 23, 2023: The Rotary Club of Chinchwad and Pimpri Elite embraced a heartwarming opportunity to serve as Social Partners for one of Maharashtra’s biggest marathons, the Apla Pune Marathon. Organized by Champ Endurance and powered by Punit Balan Group, the event witnessed the presence of esteemed guests IPS Krishna Prakash and Amit Ghawate IRS.
As Social Partners, Rotary Club took the initiative to sponsor over 240 orphan children, providing them the chance to participate in the marathon and experience the thrill of the event. The noble cause also garnered support from the Care for You Foundation.
Under the leadership of President Rtn. Yatish Bhatt and Secretary Rtn. Sachin Wadbudhe from the Rotary Club of Chinchwad, and President Rtn. Ashok Shinde and Secretary Rtn. Santosh Hol from Pimpri Elite, the event showcased District Governor of 3131, Rtn. Manjoo Phadke, along with other Club members.
A specially designed 3-kilometer route was arranged for the children, with the flag-off ceremony commencing at 8 AM, attended by the dignitaries and respective Club members. Before the run, the children were treated to a lively zumba warm-up session, setting the stage for an exhilarating experience. Adorned in special t-shirts with the slogan “Say No to Drugs and Yes to Run,” the children embarked on their journey, accompanied by music and route support to ensure safety and hydration.
Upon completing the race, each child received a well-deserved medal of appreciation, leaving them brimming with joy and happiness, cherishing this memorable experience for a lifetime. Rotary Club of Chinchwad and Pimpri Elite successfully provided these underprivileged children with a newfound sense of accomplishment and hope for a brighter future.
