Pimpri-Chinchwad: Two Police Officers Suspended For Helping Seek Bail Grant To An Attempt To Murder Accused

Pimpri, December 23, 2020: Two Pimpri-Chinchwad area police officers have been suspended for writing to the court for reducing the punishment for a serious crime and granting bail to the alleged accused who has been charged with attempt to murder. Undertaking the police’s statement, the accused was granted bail. Against this backdrop, Pimpri-Chinchwad police commissioner Krishna Prakash has suspended a police inspector (crime) Rajendra Nikalje and sub-inspector SS Jadhav at the Pimpri police station, stating the act is ‘negligence in the investigation’. The commissioner issued the suspension order on Tuesday night.

 

According to police, the accused was facing charges for attempt to murder in a vehicle vandalism case in Pimpri. It came to light that Nikalje submitted a written report to the court seeking reduction of the clause imposed on the accused in a serious crime. Accordingly, the court released the accused on bail. On the other hand, it was found that Jadhav also submitted a written report to the court on the reduction of the robbery clause against the accused. The court granted bail to the accused in this case as well. Hence, the two– Nikalje and Jadhav were suspended for allegedly reducing the clause and helping the accused get bail.
