Pune, May 27, 2020: As the state government has approved the demolition of two flyovers at Ganeshkhind Road-Savitribai Phule, Pune University and E-Square, MLA Siddharth Shirole has demanded that the traffic in the area should be properly planned before the demolition and the design of the new bridge should be presented to NGO representatives and experts.

Reacting to the state government’s decision to demolish both the flyovers, MLA Shirole said, “The quality of the future infrastructure of the city should be enhanced and for that both the flyovers need to be demolished. But my request to the state government and the administration of PMRDA is that before demolishing these two flyovers, the construction and planning of the new bridge should be presented to the representatives of NGOs and experts. If the design for the bridge is evaluated it will increase its usefulness and will bring perfection in the work.”

As the construction of the existing bridges was underway, there was lots of confusion among people due to a lack of proper maneuvering of traffic and faulty layout, which had made traffic inconvenient for all motorists. Taking this problem into account, MLA Shirole said that three important suggestions should be considered, which included proper planning of traffic before demolition of the bridge, the layout of the new bridge before the experts, and a timely work schedule.
