PM inaugurates cheese plant, addresses farmers in Banaskantha district of Gujarat

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today attended a programme organized by the Banaskantha Cooperative Milk Producers Union (Banas Dairy) at Deesa in Gujarat.

The event marked the launch of the celebration of the Golden Jubilee year of Banas Dairy.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister unveiled a plaque to mark the inauguration of a cheese plant and whey drying plant at Palanpur by remote control.

Addressing a huge gathering, the Prime Minister said that farmers of North Gujarat have shown the world what they are capable of.

The Prime Minister noted how drip irrigation has widely benefited farmers in the region. He added, “The farmers here turned to dairy and animal husbandry. This was beneficial for the farmers.” Shri Modi said that along with ‘Shwet Kranti’ (White Revolution) there is also a ‘Sweet Kranti’ (Sweet Revolution) as people are now being trained about honey products.

Speaking about demonetisation, PM Modi said that the Government has been successful in weakening the hands of terrorists and those in fake currency rackets.

Shri Modi said that Union Government is working tirelessly for welfare of the poor. He encouraged people to use e-banking and e-wallets. He said India wants progress and for that, the evils of corruption and black money must end.
