PMC issues guidelines for celebration of Ram Navami Utsav, Mahavir Jayanti Utsav, and Hanuman Jayanti Utsav

Pune, April 20, 2021: Amid the increasing COVID-19 cases, Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar has issued guidelines for the celebration of the Ram Navami Utsav on April 21, 2021, Mahavir Jayanti Utsav on April 25, 2021, and Hanuman Jayanti Utsav on April 27, 2021.
Guidelines
1. The citizens should not gather in crowds and celebrate the festivals in a simple manner.
2. To prevent the increasing spread of COVID-19, bhajan, kirtan, path, or any other religious, cultural or social programmes should not be held in public at temples this year.
3. If possible, the managers or trustees of temples in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area should broadcast the darshan and programmes to devotes via social media networks, websites, and applications like Facebook, etc.
4. Any kind of processions to celebrate the festivals will not be allowed.
5. Any person violating the orders and guidelines shall be liable to prosecution under Sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 as well as other legal provisions under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
