Pune, 21st January 2026: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has moved 29 key civic services fully online to ensure faster, transparent and citizen-friendly service delivery. With immediate effect, no offline applications will be accepted for these services, PMRDA Commissioner Dr Yogesh Mhase said.

The decision, taken under the Maharashtra Right to Public Services Act, has been communicated through an official circular. PMRDA’s jurisdiction spans nearly 800 villages, while its office is located in Akurdi. Until now, citizens—especially from rural areas—had to travel repeatedly to the office to submit applications and collect documents.

To reduce this burden and provide services at the doorstep, PMRDA has digitised major permissions, certificates and approvals. The move is expected to speed up processes, improve accountability and bring greater transparency to the authority’s functioning.

Since the services fall under the Right to Public Services Act, officials are legally bound to deliver them within a fixed time frame, aiding quicker disposal of pending cases.

Services now available online include temporary layout permissions, zoning certificates, part maps, renewal permissions, hoarding and fire safety permits, environmental clearances, property and land transfers, mutation entries, no-objection certificates for loans, and land re-measurement.

Citizens must apply through the official PMRDA website. The authority has warned of strict action against any department found accepting offline applications, with department heads to be held directly responsible for violations.
