PRINCIPAL CONTROLLER OF DEFENCE ACCOUNTS, SOUTHERN COMMAND, PUNE OFFICE CELEBRATES BHARAT RATNA DR. BABASAHEB AMBEDKAR JAYANTI
Pune, 14th April 2023: Principal Controller of Defence Accounts , Southern Command, Pune celebrated birth anniversary of ‘Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’ on 14.02.2023. The day was celebrated as ‘Knowledge Day’. Under the guidance of Dr. Rajeev Chavan, IDAS, ndc, Principal Controller of Defence Accounts, Southern command ,Pune the ‘ Social Equality Week ‘ is being celebrated in the office from April 09 to April 15. The statue of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar installed in the office premises was garlanded by the chief guest Dr. Dale Mahesh Bhagwat , IDAS, Addl. CDA and the special guest Mr. Ajay Dhoke, IRS, Additional Commissioner. All the dignitaries and officers and employees present on this occasion also paid tribute to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and offered flowers to the idol and bowed down. After that, the statues of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Gandhi, Mahatma Phule located in the office premises were also worshiped by offering flowers and garlands.
In the series of lectures organized on this auspicious occasion, many speakers paid tribute to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar by elaborating his life work and thoughts. Mr. BS Kamble, IDAS, Joint Controller of Defence Accounts, narrated the life struggle of Dr. Ambedkar and described his achievements. He further said that due to the work of an extraordinary person like Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the underprivileged people of entire India got a chance to live life as a life with dignity.
Mr. Texas Gaikwad presented the anti-corruption and integrity aspects of Dr. Babasaheb and the views of his wife Mai Saheb. As the architect of the country’s constitution, Shri Bharat Bhagat remembered Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb as an architect of our constitution, laid the foundation for the progress of the country, the progress of backward and deprived categories.
A Guest of Honour on the occasion, Mr. Ajay Dhoke, IRS, Additional Commissioner threw light on various aspects of Dr. Babasaheb’s work in his practiced analytical style. He further said that due to Dr. Babasaheb’s merits, accurate , effective and fair implementation while making practical use of his in-depth knowledge on various subjects, no one could ignore his views and suggestions. The chief guest of the program Dr. Dale Mahesh Bhagwat , IDAS, Addl. CDA in his speech, described Dr. Babasaheb intense intelligence and talent.After gaining knowledge in economics , law , human genealogy, after suffering many hardships, Dr. Ambedakar utilized the knowledge for upliftment of depressed class.The great man who spent his life working for the upliftment of the backward classes. Emphasizing on putting Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s ideas into practice, he said that excessive attachment or excessive hatred towards any one class, both are painful. Hence ‘equality for all’ and the formula of ‘social harmony’ is the only way to salvation. He further said that by utilizing the rights we have received from the Constitution in a proper way, we have to keep marching towards the progress of the country and countrymen in an fair and equitable manner.
Shri P B Agarwal ,IDAS, ACDA, Assistant Controller of Defence Accounts, proposed Vote of Thanks to everyone and the program ended with the announcement of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb’s cheer.
