Private Bus Accident on Pune-Solapur Highway, 13 Passengers Injured
Indapur, 8th September 2024: A serious accident occurred on the Pune-Solapur National Highway near Indapur city, approximately two to two and a half kilometers from the Indapur bypass. A private passenger bus traveling towards Pune from Sangola in Solapur district suffered a tyre burst, leading to a collision with a truck transporting iron.
According to initial reports, the incident took place around 7 pm near Galandwadi Number 1 village. Both front tyres of the bus burst, causing the driver to lose control. The bus veered off the highway, hitting the iron-laden truck, and plunged about 25 to 30 feet from the road. No casualties have been reported. The injured passengers were quickly rushed to the Sub-District Hospital by the Indapur police.
Emergency response teams, including the Indapur Police and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) personnel, arrived at the spot following the incident. The police have cleared the highway and restored normal traffic flow. Both the bus and the truck were heavily damaged in the accident.
