Producer-Director Shankar Barve Honoured with ‘The Green World Self-Made Man 2025’ Award
Pune, 16th June 2025: Renowned producer-director and media consultant Shankar Barve was recently conferred with the prestigious ‘GreenWorld Self-Made Man 2025’ award for his remarkable contribution to the fields of media and brand communication. The award was presented by Sunil Chavan, Secretary of the Soil and Water Conservation Department (IAS), and Ajay Kesari, Commissioner of Income Tax, Pune, at a ceremony held at Jadhavar Group of Institutes, Narhe.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by GreenWorld Foundation President Gautam Kotwal, Barve’s wife Nisha Barve, son Viraj, mother Kantabai Barve, and father Gulabrao Barve.
Shankar Barve’s journey is one of determination, innovation, and consistent creative excellence. His short films and documentaries have been released at the hands of dignitaries such as the President of India, Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, and various Union and State Ministers.
His impactful media campaigns, brand promotions, and awareness initiatives for various departments of the Government of Maharashtra, as well as his extensive work in the private sector, education, and social domains, have earned him widespread recognition. Barve’s sharp creative direction and strategic branding insight have made these campaigns highly effective.
In 2010, Barve founded S.B. Production Pvt. Ltd., which has since become a leading name in Maharashtra for advertising, documentaries, short films, digital media, social media branding, and 360-degree media communication. Driven by the motto ‘Idea to Impact’, Barve continues to deliver projects that are both innovative and impactful.
Apart from his professional pursuits, Barve is also deeply engaged in social initiatives through the S.B. Social Foundation. He actively supports the Vidyarathi Sahayyak Samiti and serves as a trustee on its alumni board. His upcoming book, ‘Brand Samvaad’ (Brand Dialogue), based on his 15 years of industry experience, is set to be published soon.
