Prohibitory action taken against One lakh 73 thousand 187 persons in state

The Chief Electoral Officer Shri V. L Kanta Rao has informed that after the model code of conduct has come into force in the state, a prohibitory action has been taken against One lakh 73 thousand 187 persons from October 6 to November 21, 2018 to ensure law and order in the state. During this period, 51 thousand 114 non-bailable warrants have been issued. Along with this, 4 thousand 808 illegal firearms have been confiscated and 2 lakh 61 thousand 645 firearms have been deposited in the police stations.
Under the property defacement, 19 lakh 35 thousand 414 cases have been registered and action has been taken in 18 lakh 79 thousand 930 cases. A total of 14 lakh 29 thousand 657 thousand cases of government property defacement have been registered and action has been taken in 13 lakh 94 thousand 308 cases. Similarly, 5 lakh 05 thousand 757 cases of private property defacement have been registered and action has been taken against 4 lakh 85 thousand 622 cases. Moreover, 13 thousand 772 cases of misuse of vehicles have been registered during this period.
