Protests Erupt Outside Dhananjay Munde’s Office In Pune; Calls For Minister’s Arrest In Beed Sarpanch Murder Case

Shivajinagar, 5th March 2025: Under mounting criticism over his alleged links to the Santosh Deshmukh murder case, Minister Dhananjay Munde has resigned from his post. His resignation comes amid growing public outrage and demands from various quarters to name him as a co-accused in the case.
The controversy erupted after certain photographs related to the murder surfaced, sparking widespread anger. In response, the Maratha Quota protestors have demanded that Munde be officially charged as a co-accused and that the state’s Home Minister also step down.
On Monday, members of the Maratha Quota staged a protest outside Munde’s office in Shivajinagar, chanting slogans against him and the government.
Speaking at the protest, protest coordinator Sachin Aadekar stated, “We are demanding that former minister Dhananjay Munde be named a co-accused in the Santosh Deshmukh murder case. Additionally, the state Home Minister must resign to ensure a fair investigation.”
He also questioned the state leadership’s silence, asking whether the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister had seen the photographs before they surfaced publicly. “If they were aware, why did they remain silent? If not, why wasn’t the matter brought to their attention earlier?” he said.
The demand for accountability continues to intensify, with protests expected to escalate in the coming days. Meanwhile, political pressure mounts on the state government to take decisive action in the case.
