Vedika, daughter of Saurabh and Sneha Shinde, was detected with this rare disease when she was just eight-month-old. The disease makes the person immobile by making the muscles and veins weak.

As the disease progresses breathing, walking, and bodily movements become difficult for the person. If the person is not treated on time, then the disease can be proved fatal.

Vedika was diagnosed with the disease when she was just eight-month-old. The doctors treating her at Mangeshkar hospital told the parents about the treatment and the cost it involves. When the parents came to know about the cost, they were surprised.

But they decided to raise the funds and appealed for funds on various platforms. Thus, through crowdfunding, they were able to raise Rs 16 crore. And the Government of India waived off the import duty.
