Pune: 13 Trees Uprooted After Heavy Rain in Pune; No Injuries Reported

Pune, 17th June 2025: Heavy rainfall in Pune late Sunday night and into Monday led to trees being uprooted at 13 different locations across the city. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Personnel from the Pune Fire Brigade promptly responded and cleared fallen branches to restore traffic movement.

The city witnessed a downpour after midnight, followed by intermittent light rain throughout Monday. The tree-fall incidents occurred in multiple areas during the early hours and were reported to the Fire Brigade’s central control room.

As of Monday evening, trees were reported to have fallen at the following locations:
-Lane No. 14, Prabhat Road
-Abhimanshree Society on Pashan Road
-Someshwarwadi in the Pashan area
-Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi
-Mahatma Society in Kothrud
-Nityanand Hall on Sinhagad Road
-Narpatgiri Chowk in Somwar Peth
-Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) headquarters
-Sopaan Baug in Ghorpadi
-Hotel Rupali in Bibvewadi
-Thubenagar in Kharadi
-Rambaug Colony in Kothrud

Old Wada Wall Collapses in City Center
In a separate incident, a portion of an old Wada (traditional mansion) wall collapsed in the Phadke Haud Chowk area. Additionally, a large advertising hoarding came crashing down in the Dhayari area on Sinhagad Road.

The fire brigade responded swiftly in both incidents, ensuring safety and clearing the debris to prevent further inconvenience.
