Pune: 15 Acres Land in Wakad Approved for Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate Housing, Offices

Mumbai/Pune, 21st March 2025: The Maharashtra government has issued a government resolution approving the acquisition of 15 acres of land in Wakad for the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. The land will be used for the residences of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 2, senior officers, and ancillary offices. This move aims to strengthen the police force and improve law enforcement in the rapidly growing industrial city.
The approval was expedited due to the intervention of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who has been actively working towards strengthening the law and order system in Pimpri-Chinchwad. With rising industrialization, a growing migrant population, and increasing crime-related challenges, the need to expand police infrastructure has become a pressing issue.
The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate had submitted a proposal to the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) for acquiring land in Survey No. 208 and 209 at Wakad. Following discussions at the state government level, the proposal received administrative approval, and a government resolution was issued. The land will be acquired at commercial rates through a premium payment model.
