Pune: 15 Teams Compete for Top Honours in Football and Hockey at St. Vincent’s Junior League

Pune, 10th January 2025: A total of 14 schools in football and eight in hockey will lock horns for top honours in the St. Vincent’s Junior League 2024-25, at the St. Vincent’s ground from Saturday (11th January 2025).

The League is based on a development concept and revolves around a “development plan league” that is based on the English Premier League and ensures an all-play-all format.

All matches will be played on Saturday only with the football -league to be conducted for six weeks, while the hockey will play for four weeks.

The idea behind the league is to expose and develop kids through the quantity in total matches that they will be subjected to over the one and a half month period of the tournament.

Among the teams signing up for football include; The Kalyani School, Hutchings H.S, Dastur Boys, Sadar Dastur Hormazdiar Co-ed H.S, St. Patricks H.S, Vidya Valley, Loyola School, Erin Nagarwala National School, Hill Green School, HDFC School, Fr. Agnel School and hosts Vincent’s H.S

The eight teams for hockey include, St Patrick’s High School ‘A’, St Patrick’s High School ‘B’, Ornellas High School, Dastur High School, Loyola School ‘A’ and ‘B’’ and St. Vincent’s High School ‘A’ and ‘B’

This is the 14th edition of the football l league and 2nd hockey league held in this prestigious tournament held by St. Vincent’s HS.

Meanwhile, the chief guest for the opening ceremony on Saturday is Chief Executive Officer, Pune Cantonment Board Subrath Pal, while Vinod Mathurawala will be the Guest of Honour while Principal St. Vincent H.S Fr. Titus Thangaraj will also be present.
