Pune: 166 Escalators To Be Installed At 30 Metro Stations

Pune, 14th August 2021: The first escalator has been installed at Sant Tukaram Nagar metro station in Pimpri Chinchwad. It has been manufactured at a factory in Chakan under the Central Government’s Make in India policy.

Maha Metro MD Brijesh Dixit said that 166 escalators will be installed in 30 stations on both routes of Pune Metro. This will enable passengers to get to and from the station faster.

The escalator has all the latest amenities. There are three emergency stop buttons to stop the escalator in case of an emergency. Also, speed can be reduced or fasten according to the number of passengers.
