Pune: 17-Year-Old Boy Dies In Accident With PMPML, Case Registered Against Driver

Khadakwasla, 16th November 2022: A student of class 11 from Kirkatwadi died in an accident, while another person sustained minor injuries, in a collision between a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus and a two-wheeler between Nandoshi and Sanasnagar villages.

 

The deceased student has been identified as Swaraj Datta Hagwane (17), a resident of Bapujibuwa Nagar, Nandoshi Road, Kirkatwadi.

 

Swaraj had left home as he was going to college in the morning. College friends decided to go swimming in a well in Sanas Nagar in Haveli taluka of Pune district. Bunking college, six friends went to Sanasnagar on two-wheelers. On the way back from there, at around three o’clock in the afternoon, a PMPML bus, coming from Kirkatwadi to Sanasnagar, and the two-wheeler driven by Swaraj collided at a bend near a stream between the villages of Nandoshi and Sanasnagar.

 

Swaraj’s face and head were severely injured in the head-on collision. Other friends who were with him immediately took him to the hospital on another bike, but Swaraj died during treatment in the middle of the night due to bleeding in the brain.

 

In this regard, a case has been registered against the bus driver at Haveli police station, and Police Constable Vilas Pradhan is conducting a further investigation under the guidance of Police Inspector Sadashiv Shelar.
