Pune: 18 Kg Ganja Found Abandoned At Lonavala Railway Station, Police Look For ‘Owner’

Pune, 23rd September 2021: Two alert staff of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) found two bags containing 17.9 kg ganja (marijuana) worth Rs 2.68 lakh abandoned at platform number two of Lonavala railway station.

 

After the departure of train no. 01020 Konark Express, head constables Ramesh Baviskar and Anil Jadhav were checking the platform around 1.10 am today when they found two unclaimed sack bags on the bench behind Diwadkar Canteen. On enquiry, no passenger claimed nor to know the owner.

 

A smell of Ganja was emitting from the bags. The sack bags were brought to the station master’s office Lonavala. SIPF BN Kadale reached there and opened the bags in the presence and found Ganja.

 

The seized Ganja was handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) for further investigation.
