Pune: 19-Year-Old Student Stabbed To Death In Talegaon By 20-25 People
Talegaon, 7th November 2022: A college student has been killed in Talegaon, Pune. A group of 20 to 25 people killed the young man by stabbing him with an iron rod and crossbow. The name of the deceased is Pranav alias Jai Mandekar (19). He was in his first year of B.Com studying at Indrayani College. The Talegaon police have detained some people in this case.
Pranav had gone out to celebrate a friend’s birthday along with one of his friends. The young man who was with Pranav got into an argument over the phone. A gang of 20 to 25 people came there to kill the young man and they killed Pranav thinking of him as the friend’s accomplice.
According to the information given by the police, Pranav had left the house saying it was a friend’s birthday. When his mother Swati called her son at around 9.30 pm, he hung up saying that he had finished his meal and was leaving.
However, even after an hour and a half he still did not reach home hence, the mother called again. At that time, Talegaon police picked up the phone and told the mother that Pranav had been murdered. After going to the police station, they found out that Vishal, who was with Pranav, had an argument on the phone with Mangesh.
Nine people including Pranav were chatting at Idgah Maidan Kadolkar Colony. Then, a group of 20 to 25 people including Mangesh came there on six to seven bikes. They had crossbows, and iron rods with them. Mangesh started threatening Vishal resulting in everyone including Pranav to run in any direction.
While running, Pranav stumbled at some distance and fell. So, he was approached and killed by a crossbow, and an iron rod, thinking that he was an accomplice of Vishal.
After the murder, the gang tried to spread terror by spinning the weapons in the air. It is said that the shopkeepers there closed the doors and windows of the shop due to fear. Talegaon police have detained some people in this case.
