The action was carried out by a joint team from the Kasba Peth, Vishrambaugwada and Bibwewadi ward offices under PMC’s Zone 5. The drive was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Madhav Jagtap.
According to the civic administration, spitting in public places contributes to the spread of diseases and affects the cleanliness and appearance of the city. The PMC has intensified enforcement to discourage such practices and maintain hygiene in public spaces.
The civic body said that regular action would continue against individuals and commercial establishments found spitting on public roads or creating unhygienic conditions.
