Pune: 25-Year-Old Man Found Dead In Chandannagar Lodge; Investigation Underway
Pune, 18th March 2025: The body of a 25-year-old man was found in a lodge in the Chandannagar area. The cause of death is yet to be determined, but police suspect excessive alcohol consumption might have played a role, as the deceased was known to be addicted to drinking.
The deceased has been identified as Akash Sunil Sable, a resident of Chandannagar on Pune-Nagar Road. The Chandannagar Police have registered the case as an accidental death.
According to the police, on 14th March during the Holi celebrations, Akash had celebrated Holi along with his friends. After consuming alcohol, he went to Shri Lodge in the Pathare Mala area of Chandannagar. He withdrew cash from an ATM and continued drinking at the lodge. It was reportedly a regular practice for him to visit lodges after drinking.
Later, Akash’s friends took the remaining cash from him and handed it over to his family. During this time, Akash complained of feeling unwell. The next morning (15th March), his friends visited the lodge to check on him but found him unresponsive. They returned again in the afternoon, only to find him still unresponsive. Sensing something was wrong, they immediately informed the police.
Akash was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead before treatment could begin.
The police questioned Akash’s family, who stated they did not suspect foul play by his friends. The Chandannagar Police have registered it as an accidental death and are continuing their investigation.
Senior Police Inspector Seema Dhakne of Chandannagar Police Station confirmed that CCTV footage from the lodge premises is being examined for further clues.
