Pune: 25-Year-Old Youth’s Heart, Liver And Kidney Transplanted After Serious Injuries In Accident

Pune, 25th April 2022: This year’s 1st heart transplant surgery in Pune was performed at a private hospital in Deccan Gymkhana.
The donor was a 25-year-old youth from Devale in Kolhapur.
He had met with an accident and was admitted in a private hospital in Kolhapur. He was working with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).
He has old parents and one elder brother who gave consent for transplantation of all organs. His liver and one kidney were transplanted at the hospital in Kolhapur, and one kidney was transplanted at a hospital in Sadashiv Peth, Pune.
The vital organs were transported 270 km in 150 minutes by road. The traffic police units of Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara and Pune rural and city had created a green corridor.
