Pune : 38-Year-Old Woman Dies After Hit By PMPML Bus, Driver Booked
Pune 23rd August 2023: A 38-year-old woman died after she was hit by a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) on Pune-Satata Road on Tuesday. The police have booked PMPML driver in the case.
According to the complaint, the deceased identified as Swapnali Sagar Waghule (38), a resident of Bibvewadi afea was crossing the Pune-Satara road near Parvati on her bike on Tuesday afternoon when she was hit by a speeding PMPML bus. The bus driver driving in the BRT lane jumped the signal before hitting her, the complainant stated.
Swapnali sustained serious injuries in the incident and she was declared dead by the doctors. A case in this regard has been registered at Parvati Police Station against the PMPML driver under sections 279, 304(a), 338 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with section 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act. The deceased woman’s husband Sagar Waghule has lodged a complaint in the matter. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
