Pune: 3856 new Corona patients in Pune district, 73 deaths

Pune, Aug 31, 2020: With the addition of 3856 fresh Coronavirus positive yesterday, the total number of COVID cases has reached 1,68,381 in Pune district. Also, 2680 patients got discharged from hospitals while 73 people died.

Dr. Bhagwan Pawar, District Health Officer (DHO), said that out of total 1,68,381  patients 1,29,629 have been cured and discharged from hospitals, while 4061 people have died. There are still 33,688 active patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals, also out of 34,806, 15,078 are Home Isolated. Most of the patients are from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area. Till now 7,22,215 people have been tested in the district.

The 1,68,381 patients include 94,497 from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area, 48,737 from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), 3472 from Cantonment areas, 16,654 are from Rural areas, and 5021 from municipal council (Nagar Parishad) areas in the district.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 3,621,245 across the country. Out of this, 2,774,801 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 64,469 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 781,975 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
