Pune: 460 new COVID patients found, Magarpatta City resident among 12 dead

Pune, June 17, 2020: In the last 24 hours, a total of 117 people were discharged from hospitals after being cured of COVID19 in Pune city today. Also, 460 new patients were detected while 12 patients died. Today swab samples of 2841 people were collected for COVID tests.

According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the total number of Coronavirus positive patients till date has reached 10643 out of which 6713 have been cured while 481 have died. There are still 3449 active patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals. They include 232 critical patients out of which 44 are on ventilator support. Till now 79047 people have been tested in Pune city.

Among the 12 deaths, two were women and 10 men. All were between the age group 40 to 86 years. They were residents of Magarpatta City in Hadapsar, Wadarwadi, Naik chawl in Bopodi, Mithanagar in Kondhwa, Dandekar bridge area, Laxminagar in Parvati, Suhrud apartment in Kasba Peth, Juni Wadarwadi, Rahul Colony in Hadapsar, PMC colony in Pandavnagar and Vasantbaug in Bibvewadi.

Across Maharashtra, there were 3307 new COVID19 cases today taking the total number of cases to 116752. Also, 114 deaths were reported today, while 1305 got discharged from hospitals after being cured. There are still 51,921 active cases. The total death toll stands at 5651, while 59,166 patients have been discharged till date, according to Maharashtra Health Department.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 354,065 across the country. Out of this, 186,934 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 11,903 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 155,227 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
