Pune, July 7, 2020: In the last two days, 18 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) positive patients have been found in five villages around the Hinjawadi IT Park area, which is likely to turn into the red zone. Maan Primary Health Center medical officer Dr Balaji Lakade, informed that 38 people who came in contact with the infected patients are home quarantined.

The number of patients includes five in Hinjawadi, three in Nerhe, two in Jambe, four in Maan and four in Marunji.

The number of COVID-19 patients is increasing rapidly in Mulshi taluka, the count has gone beyond 100 cases. This has tensed and worried about the residents in the area. There is no government hospital for free treatment of patients in the area, therefore relatives of infected patients are in dilemma about where to admit the patients for treatment.

There is a private hospital of 600 beds in Lavale but relatives of COVID-19 patients are complaining that this hospital charges more money claiming non-availability of beds. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has signed an agreement with the hospital and since then only Pune city patients are being treated for free there.
