Pune: 7 COVID positive patients found in a building in Khadki, building sealed

Khadki, June 8, 2020: Today seven Coronavirus positive patients were detected in a building taking the total number of COVID cases to 51 in the Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) area. Now officials have begun tracing their close contacts. All seven are residents of Neeta Apartment in Khadki Bazaar.

According to KCB, out of the total 51 patients, 29 have been cured while two have died and 20 active patients are still undergoing treatment. KCB has started Mohalla clinic for reaching more number of people to identify if they have any symptoms. Yesterday one Corona patient was found in Neeta Apartment following which 10 more were tested. Today seven out of those 10 have been found COVID positive. KCB has now sealed Neeta Apartment.

In Pune city, a total of 166 people were discharged from hospitals after being cured of COVID19 today. Also, 181 new patients were detected while 13 patients died. Today swab samples of 2108 people were collected for COVID tests. According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the total number of Coronavirus positive patients till date has reached 8061 out of which 5185 have been cured while 391 have died. There are still 2486 active patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals. They include 204 critical patients out of which 43 are on ventilator support. Till now 60,798 people have been tested in Pune city.

Across Maharashtra, there were 1661 new COVID19 patients reported today taking the total number of cases to 88,528. Also, 109 people died while 1661 got discharge from hospitals after being cured. There are still 44,374 active cases. The total death toll stands at 3169, while 40,975 patients have been discharged till date, according to Maharashtra Health Department.
