Pune: 70-Year-Old Wins Over Covid-19 By Playing Flute

Pune, 22 April 2021: Seventy-year-old Popat Kumbhar who was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), found out a new method to keep his spirit alive.

 

Kumbhar found a bed in a private hospital in Dhayari after his son requested the local corporator Smita Kondhre. His condition was critical and he was admitted to ICU. Kumbhar used to see doctors, nurses, oxygen cylinders, monitors and other equipment.

 

All this scene would add to the worry more. But Kumbhar found a way out. He would play his flute in the ICU which not only relaxed his body and mind but of other patients too.

He would play old Marathi songs and would entertain the entire ward. This also helped the patients to recover fast and keep a positive attitude. The doctors, nurses and medical staff found it soothing in the otherwise grim situation.
