Pune: 750 Litres Adulterated Ghee Seized By Crime Branch, Two Persons Arrested

Pune, September 12, 2020: In a joint operation, the officials from the Crime Branch of Pune City Police and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today raided two godowns in Vadgaonsheri and seized adulterated 750 litres ghee worth Rs seven lakh.
DCP (Crime) Bachchan Singh said, “We had received input regarding some people indulging in the manufacture of adulterated ghee (tup). Accordingly, the anti-narcotics cell (west region) team coordinated with FDA and raided the place and arrested two persons. Further legal action is going on.”
The arrested persons have been identified as Dinesh Mehandi Bhanodia and Sohil Mehandi Bhanodia. The two godowns are located in Vadgaosheri- near Akshay engineering workshop and behind Kapilnagar water tank, which is under the jurisdiction of Chandan Nagar and Yerwada police stations.
The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Morale and DCP Bachchan Singh by a team led by Police Inspector Rajendra Mohite. The team included PSI Nilesh Mahadik, and police personnel Manoj Shinde, Mahesh Kadam, Firoz Bagwan, Mangesh Pawar, Pramod Tilekar, Amol Pilane, Pradip Gade, Sahil Shaikh, Rupali Karnwar and Mohan Yelpale.
