According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) officials, Mohol has been at the forefront in reviewing meetings related to COVID prevention and also visited several areas including containment zones. He was earlier tested twice but then his reports were found negative. After being found COVID positive yesterday, he has been admitted to a hospital for treatment. Now reports of his eight family members have come positive and they are also being taken to hospital.

While COVID-19 cases have been increasing in the city, there has been a rise in spread of infection among PMC staff as well. Till date, more than 200 staff have been infected due to coronavirus and 12 of them have died. Meanwhile, PMC has put restrictions on the citizens’ entry in PMC building as a precautionary measure. People are gathering in large numbers and not following physical distancing norms. Besides that, there have been cases of infected persons in PMC main building recently.
