Pune: 822 Buses To Operate For Convenience Of Devotees At Night During Ganeshotsav
Pune, 1st September 2022: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has arranged a night bus service for the convenience of devotees during Ganeshotsav.
The night bus service will run in two phases. In the first phase, 168 buses will run on September 1, 2 and 8, while in the second phase, buses will run on September 3 to 7 and September 9.
In the second phase, as the number of passengers travelling at night is more, as many as 654 buses have been planned. These buses will run between 10 am to 2 am. The night bus fare has been increased by Rs 5.
During Ganeshotsav, there is a high number of devotees coming to Pune from the suburbs as well as from villages.
The Swargate road will be closed on September 9, the day of the immersion procession. So buses will leave from alternate stops. Night buses will depart from all bus depots of PMP. But most of the buses will depart from PMC and Swargate Bus Station.
Chief Transport Manager Dattatreya Zende said that 200 to 2500 buses will run from these two bus stops.
